Here is a simple way to get just the right color of ribbon for your project. Dye it! That's right, you can use Stampin' Up!'s Ink Refills to dye white ribbon to the color your choice. And it's not all that hard...
First, choose a length of Whisper White ribbon. Next, choose a color to dye your ribbon. Simply apply drops of ink to the ribbon and let it dry. If you are dying a longer length of ribbon (ie: many yards), I would recommend using rubber gloves as it can get messy working with that much ribbon. On the other hand, if you have just a few inches you can simplify the process even more and just color the ribbon with the brush tip of a Stampin' Write Marker. Any way you choose to dye it, your ribbon will need to be set aside to dry before using it on your project, so you may want to do this step first.
Another fun way to color your ribbon is using Stampin' Pastels. If you get the pastel chalk on a sponge dauber then you can rub it onto your ribbon. This technique gives you softer color that dying with ink. And you have the option of double sided-ribbon when using the Pastels, whereas the ink saturates the ribbon throughout. By using the pastels with a sponge dauber, you can create a ribbon that is pink on one side and yellow on the other for example for a cute baby card. When you tie the double-sided ribbon in a bow you really showcase the 2 different colors.
I recommend always keeping Whisper White ribbon on hand because you can always dye it to coordinate if you happen to be out of the color ribbon you might need. I know you are dying to try this fun technique so,
