his project is the opposite of what I showed you yesterday. With the bleaching technique you take color away from the fabric around the vinyl design, and now we are going to add color using Stampin' Up!'s Craft Ink Refills. This was a plain white silk scarf to begin.
I used the Leaves #2 die with my Big Shot to cut out about 6 leaves and adhered them to the ends of the scarf. Then I created a fabric dye by combining Craft ink and rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle. I used a good size squirt of ink with a few tablespoons of alcohol. If the color appears too faded when you use it, just add more ink to the mixture and spray again. After I sprayed the scarf with several colors, I used a sponge to apply straight Craft Ink just on the area around the vinyl, so that those images would be nicely defined. At this point you can remove the vinyl, but do not rinse or wash the fabric until the ink is set. Let the scarf sit for at least 24 hours, and then heat set the ink with an iron.
I used the following colors on this scarf: More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, Ruby Red, Mellow Moss, and Close to Cocoa.
The photos below show a closer perspective.

Great pictures! This is beautiful, but you need to show off the snowflake scarf too. Will that be tomorrow?

Had to take a minute to comment. Dig the scarf but I'm really digging the new haircut! Too cute!
